Summer started with the family vacation to Florida to board a cruise ship and emark on a 4 day family adventure on the high seas. We drove to Florida (thus the picture above of Drewman complete with stickers EVERYWHERE. Everywhere includes the door and window of my car, Drew, grandma, the pillows, blankets and oxygen concentrator. No surface was safe once those stickers came out :) He did have a good time with them though and now every time I get in my car I remember what fun we had taking the boys on their first cruise. We returned to Columbus after the cruise by way of Charleston, SC and Myrtle Beach.
The next fun event of the summer involved Red, White and Boom in Downtown Columbus which has become a tradition for our family. We book the room as early as we can so we get what we want and can stay near the action but not be in the middle of it ALL day and night. The show was nothing less than spectacular as usual. Brenda and grandma were party poopers and stayed home this year. That was probably for the best as hot as it was except for the fact that we were lucky enough to get a room that they could have actually seen most of the show from the room. Oh well, maybe next year.
Then over the rest of the July 4th weekend I flew to Denver to visit my Australian friends who had been in the states for a couple of months and we had not been able to get together. It was quite a relaxing weekend and much needed after my last vacation had been so hectic...fun but hectic. While in Denver I was also able to spend time with my best friend who was taking care of her son and family... for 3 months... I love life when my friends can play nicely together!! Melissa and Michele hit it off immediately and we were able to stay up talking until well into the night. GOOD THERAPY for us all!!!
It is not quite so hot today but tomorrow we go back into the fryer I hear. I guess that means the yard is calling tonight... its a dirty job but someone has to do it

I will leave you with a ta-ta for now... or in honor of my Aussie friends maybe that should be "GDay Mate"
